What Makes YOU Feel Sexy?

Pop singer Lily Allen is pregnant and seems to be struggling with that unique balance between feeling your body change and loving the changes. She was recently quoted in Grazia as saying:

"I feel like an elephant, but I do get the occasional sexy pregnant day where I think I look great."

Well, we'd like to see MORE days where Lily, and all moms, feel as great as she looks in that red carpet photo. What are your tricks for feeling lovely and sexy while pregnant?

Baby Gaga

Now that it's finally getting cool (at least here on the East Coast) our thoughts turn to all things fall: apple cider, pumpkins, and best of all, Halloween. Nothing's cuter than a baby in a costume, for sure, but check out this BABY GAGA costume the folks at Gawker turned up!

Have you dressed up your kids? Any other ideas for young baby costumes?

Happy Fashion Week!

It’s fashion week here in New York City once again, and that means it’s also time to sit in our houses or offices and judge outfits that, likely, most of us will never wear! All those ruffles! That shirt is see-through! And so on, in our pjs or office wear. (Or cute maternity dresses!)

One of the most fun ways to participate in fashion week is to read the Fug Girls coverage over on NY Magazine’s website. Reading their coverage of the shows (likely going up later today or tonight) is like having your best friend sitting inside on the runway and texting you about the celebs in the front row.

And, as always, if you are pregnant and would like to fashion it up for the week, we’re here for you! Moody Mamas has a great line of dresses designed by Fashion Week darling Christian Siriano.

Happy New Year!

To all of the Jewish moms and moms to be out there, happy new year! Rosh Hashanah starts at sundown tonight and, although not everyone might be celebrating, we thought that anyone might be able to enjoy this delicious recipe for a traditional honey cake! According to Epicurious.com, "Honey cake is often served during Rosh Hashanah because honey symbolizes wishes for "sweet" things to come. The cake becomes moister and its flavors deepen a day or two after it's made." We like the sound of that -- and what a great time to make a wish or two for a baby on the way!

Blind Baby Item

Hollywood thrives on blind gossip items...and so do we, after a long weekend! Here's a blind item from Defamer about an actress raising a baby that we simply can't figure out. Any ideas? Leave your guesses in the comments!

"This gorgeous Latino actress is secretly taking care of a wayward sister whom she took in last year. The actress is struggling to balance her fame and career, without exploiting her sister and helping her. The sister is suffering from mental illness and got into some really risky behavior. When she ended up pregnant, the star took her in and the little sis recently just gave birth. The actress now finds herself in the role of secret mommy as well as caretaker and world famous actress."

Sex Parties...NOT What You Think!

According to this piece from ABC News
, the new rage with parents-to-be is throwing a party where they discover the sex of their baby. Parents are having their doctors seal the results of their ultrasound in an envelope, and then giving that envelope directly to their baker and asking for a cake with an internal frosted layer in either pink or blue. Slicing and serving the cake makes for a sweet surprise for mom, dad, and their gathered loved ones. We think this is a fun way to involve family in an informal celebration of your pregnancy without all the fuss and expense of a shower. What do you think??
