According to this piece from ABC News, the new rage with parents-to-be is throwing a party where they discover the sex of their baby. Parents are having their doctors seal the results of their ultrasound in an envelope, and then giving that envelope directly to their baker and asking for a cake with an internal frosted layer in either pink or blue. Slicing and serving the cake makes for a sweet surprise for mom, dad, and their gathered loved ones. We think this is a fun way to involve family in an informal celebration of your pregnancy without all the fuss and expense of a shower. What do you think??
